Wish I Could Put It All Into Perspective
It's been awhile since i've written, and i kinda wish i'd written sooner cos the words are stuck in my oesophagus at the mo.
I went away last weekend to a town in the middle of the north island, can't remember for the life of me what it was called. Actually, it wasn't even a town - it was some holiday camp in the middle of nowhere with no mobile reception. The scenery was gorgeous, though, and at night there was no light pollution so you could see trillions of stars and even galaxies.
Andy Shudall, the TSCF(IFES/UCCF) head of training in NZ who's the staffworker helping Nancy and I start/run the CF in uni, was speaking at a CF camp for Massey Uni Palmerston North. He invited me and i was happy to go. We drove 6+ hrs down to the campsite and got well lost along the way. Oh well. We got there eventually and I really enjoyed the camp for several reasons. Firstly, Andy's preaching was top notch, really Gospel-centred and faithful, and clear. He spoke through the entire book of Hebrews. Secondly, the students there(about 20+) seemed really mature and Bible-centred - they asked good questions and sang good songs, and they really enjoyed Andy's good teaching. That was a great encouragement for me, trying to get my uni CF up and running - that it is possible to grow/nurture a group of Bible-believing Christians hungry for the Word of God, with the help of the Holy Spirit of course. Finally, the scenery was beautiful, both on the journey there n back, and at the campsite itself. We saw 2 gorgeous sunsets and drove by lakes and rolling hills, and snowy volcanoes. Praise God for His creation.
Uni is okay, i have totally no motivation to do much work, i usually leave it to the last minute. Nxt Thurs i have a 4-min presentation in my Interpersonal Communications Class - the topic is ANYTHING, so i've decided to do Sin. So please pray for me that God will use me through that - that i'll be clear, and brave, and that the Holy Spirit will speak through me and that God will use that 4 mins for His Glory and purposes, whatever they may be (even if it means having eggs on my face, heh) Pray that i'll prepare well too.
Got a football match tmr up in Whangarei - about 3hrs drive up north - 1st match of the season. I'll probably start in the reserves match - playing centre back. I really want to improve badly - i play well at times but other times i'm just a moron - and i think it's really impt to be a good player at the club because people respect you as a player, more than as a person. Only if you're a good player - that's when people will recognise you as a good person. Most times anyways. But i've prayed about that and i'm leaving it to God to help me improve in His own time - if i dón't improve, that's okay, i'll carry on being no.777 - Jesus Christ at the Club :)
Finally, some stuff has happened in church and it's affecting me. Pray that i'll respond in a way that pleases God - to leave if He wants me to, to suck it if He wants me to, but just to rest assured in Him that things will sort out in time.
As i sit back and think about all this, i wonder what God thinks of me, and my little silly life. In God's perspective, what in my life is important and has eternal value, and what is just... trash?
I wish i could put it all into perspective.
"My hope(in Christ) sustains me as I strive
And strain towards the Goal
Though i still stumble into sin
His death paid for it all
His death paid for it all.
My hope is to be with my Lord
To know as I am known
To serve Him gladly all my days
In praise before His throne
In praise before His throne."
