sunsets and starlights
Hey guys... I'm still on the footy track! :) Went for my first proper training session today - from 6:30-8:30pm, with showers and dinner after, even! I am knackered, though - apparantly Mondays is Physical Day, thank God it's only Mondays!! The entire first hour was dedicated to RUNNING - good job for army training, made it a lot easier than it could have been. It was just sprints, jogs, sprints, jogs, for the entire hour. Then we did some ball work, with more running. Cor, i was tired - so tired i couldn't even think during the ball work time. While the running was shacked, it was really lush conditions - clear blue sky and wind blowing in your face..mmmmmm
After training, we did the usual warm-downs, with some cool pretzelly stretches with a partner - some of which look like moves right out of a WWE handbook or something haha... With the sun setting in the back ground. Man, i wish my stretching partner was my girlfriend, haha!
After we were done, we went back to the changing rooms where, to my surprise, there were pizzas, cheeseless pizzas waiting for us.(cheeseless pizzas cos apparantly cheese is so fattening that if we had any, our day's training would have been completely worthless! Dang! I love cheese!!:( ) Every Monday there is dinner after training. Someone was even asked to say grace! I'm quite sure my coach Brett is a Christian, or at the very least someone who's sympathetic to the faith. Pray that i shine for the Lord even on the pitch - i had a swearing moment today after being bundled off the ball at training. Whoops.
Anyways, on my way home, i looked up into the sky, and the entire night was blazen with stars - it was gorgeous - it was like God saying to me that He knew darn well what He was doing when He brought me out here - He knew that i would love it. What can I say? He has more party tricks than the busker i saw in town today - and the busker dude could balance a glass of water on his bald sweaty head, ride a unicycle and juggle 3 baseball bats all at the same time. God, on the other hand can teleport (bloody resistant) people from Singapore to NZ and prepare a church, uni and football club for that (bloody resistant) person to serve Him.
What can I say?
