Random Rambles
The past few days have been more eventful - think the days of nothing-to-dos and quiet frustration have ceased to haunt me - which is probably a good thing. Except i still haven't learnt to 'Be Still and Reflective', which i guess i attribute to my personality. Maybe one day i'll be like my lovely mum - who likes her time alone and thrives on being at home, reading, reflecting, and growing in knowledge. Or i could be like Sarah, who would just die if she spent too much time with people... haha! (by people i mean me of course!)
I've been busy with football over the past 10 days - i played football 4 out of 5 days from Fri - Tues and it has taken quite a toll on my poor feet. But for all the training, i managed to last through 3 thirds of 30 mins (the whole match) on Saturday, so i guess it was all more than worth it. We got roasted by the other team - Uni Mt Wellington - who are apparantly a Premier League team - but i haven't figured out what that really means yet. haha... At least my coach has quit calling me Crap, which is nice! :)
My coach rocks - he huddled the team together before the match on Saturday, said to us,"whether we win or lose, we do it as a team." And he said a prayer for us all - in Jesus' name. I almost drowned in tears - what joy to be playing under a coach who is professional in his coaching, yet knows and loves the Lord Jesus, and is willing to bring his faith out while training us! He has indeed been a great example for me - whilst everyone, and i myself for that matter, have always linked professional football with booze, swearing, violence, and dirty play - he's coached with care for us as young men, and the desire to see us improve, not just in football, but in life as well. (do pray for me as i play - that i will be a good witness, and not swear on the pitch, hee hee.. and not to scold the ref - Gabe will testify to that one)
Do pray for me as i continue to serve in church - that's becoming increasingly difficult - as i adjust to being in the same church as my family, and pastor dad again. It's hard to explain, maybe i'm finally realising the answer to the age-old PK question,"is there any pressure being a pastor's kid?" I'm struggling to be fed in church - so i've decided that i can't rely on anyone for my own walk with God - i can't expect Edmund or the PUNJ leaders to be there for me 24/7 - i need to read on my own and be accountable to someone else(in the works).
So! I'm off to listen to an online sermon. Argh it's 1am!! Come on Edmund, talk faster ok??
