Apprehensing Excition
Heya :) How ya goin? (As they say here - God knows why, i understand 'howya doin?' and 'howsit goin?' but 'howya goin??' Now that's a puzzle.)
The past week has brought several pleasant surprises, and slowly but surely i'm finding my feet particularly in my areas of ministry, and also slowly working out my timetable/weekly routine.
Over the weekend, i was at my church's church camp, which initially, i didn't want to attend, but after some(rare) thinking, and parental guidance(not because of explicit content), i decided to go and 'establish relationships' with my church people. And it was worth it.
Here the story goes. The church camp was meant to run from Fri-Sun, but i stayed at home on Fri night because i had(and still have) an assignment to do,due Thursday, on Self Disclosure. I stayed up late to do 2/3ds of it and woke up at 9am to go and play football hee hee. I played all of 22 mins... there were 23 players on our team that day vying for a spot. Competition is good i guess, for the club, but it might mean i may never play for the 1st team. Oh well, reserves is good i guess, as long as i keep fit and improve, hopefully. Anyways, after the match, i went to the camp (begrudgingly, cos i wanted to sleep...*grunt*) and hung out with people, (eventually) played silly games, and built relationships, i guess! The following day was Sunday service with lunch following, and more fellowship too. After the lunch, Aunty Jean and Alistair, who are in charge of music, pulled me aside and told me that i could lead a music team if i so desired to - and i promptly agreed, fo shizzle muh nizzle! :) They said i could either start up a team on my own, or lead an existing team, or if i really wanted to i could do both. I decided to start up my own team with kate and a few kids - i'm trying to avoid treading on too many people's toes with my way of doing things. Hopefully, i can help the other teams to choose good Biblical songs and help with their arrangements when the time is right. So that's something to be thankful for, after months of........ Nuff said. My dad was the one who brought it about - he asked them if i could lead a team because i was getting stifled by the lack of opportunities to be useful. Só i'm v grateful to him.
Finally, i'm helping to lead a Christian Union in school! A girl from my church called Nancy was asked to start something up, and i'm gonna help her. In fact, i'm leading a Just Looking group on Thursday! Am excited about it but apprehensive - we had our first mtg last wk and only had 8.. also a bit apprehensive bout leading the BS. Pls pray for me that i'll be faithful to the Word and clear in sharing the Gospel with them. And for all the above mentioned, pls pray for humility.
And very finally, my dad has signed up with SKY tv... i finally can watch FOOTBALL!!!! yaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!!praise the Lord!! so long everyone.....
