inspired, but to do what?
Exams round the bend, first ones in a few years! The last ones i took were the silly army tests you took at TST in OCS. Haha i always only just passed them, lucky never OOC. Just handed in a big Image and Sound essay, had to analyse Kung-Fu Hustle, watched it no less than 3 times. Absolute rubbish film, but it's growing on me. The film, not rubbish, i mean. Also had to analyse a couple of beer ads - didn't have a clue what i was writing, finished it at 0400hrs the night before, completely pulled it from my bum. What's new, eh?
A bunch of giggling, screaming girls(Kate's mates) have evicted me from my little bachelor pad downstairs. Humph! I felt so violated the first day they came, my parents were busy cleaning my room - don't blame me for that - and i was up in Kate's room which was more of a mess than mine usually is! Anyways i hope they're having fun, they're pretty cool for 17 year olds, could be a lot worse, like some 17 year olds in my course!! hahaha
YESSSSSSSSS the World Cup is here. Just in time for my exams. Thank God my exams are like only 3 days into the Cup, so i won't be missing much. In fact, i might not be missing anything at all! haha. Watched some of the replay of the Germany Costa Rica game in the uni cafe just now.. Haha everyone thinks i'm at the 'library studying'. Tee hee. What a goal by Thorsten Frings.
Yesterday, and last Friday there was a screening by the journalism dept about 2 different journos who lost their lives doing their work, reporting in war-torn countries like Yugoslavia, Sierra Leone and in the Gaza Strip. Their names were James Miller and Miguel Gil. Pretty sobering stuff, especially the James Miller one on Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip, i couldn't finish eating my sarnie because i was all choked up. It's crazy to think that.. not so far away, there are ppl with lives so drastically different, and perhaps that is all they will ever know - fighting and death, hatred and their religion, which interpreted in the way they do, only brings more fighting and death and hatred. Watching a film like that makes inevitable demands on your life, but the question is, what can you do? Hopefully one day, i can answer that question for myself.
Thankfully the Gospel is not like that. It makes inevitable demands, it demands a response, and we are availed to make that response by the blood of Christ.
